*Don't read if you haven't watched the Sat. White Fish Tank yet!White Fish Tank was commendable and I actually don't mind watching it again =D (anyone wants to spare me a Sat. ticket?) *flashes innocent smile*
However, the 1st story was quite urm...disorientated and undeveloped? It's about an old woman who laid a curse on her cowardly and unfilial (in one way or another) son thus turning him into an idiot (literally) who ends up falling off a window unwittingly yet fatally. His depressed wife followed suit and the old woman is left behind. In the end, she seeks solace in her new tenant, a young man who lost his mother due to his unfilial act, and vice-versa. And what's the thing with the bananas? I was unable to really feel the hatred and underlying emotions of the wife or the ruefulness of the tenant. Furthermore, the mere 15mins was inadequate in allowing the audience to fully absorb the entire storyline. Quite a disppointment I must say.
Before I forgot, there was this part where the wife said:“反正我贱命一条,她要的话就拿去吧!”
(something like that la, my memory sucks)
And I didn't really catch it, so
Me: (to Soo who was sitting beside me) 拿什么东西?
Soo: (seriously and in a 理所当然 tone and quite loudly) 贱命啊!
Me: ...
Anyway, back to the point...
I LOVE the 2nd story!!! =P
It talks about a teenager who was unable to accept the fact that his parents had passed on, and stubbornly dwells in the world of his 'happy family'. However, through the care of his girlfriend, the patience of his counsellor, plus the harsh words from his grandmother, he was finally able to come to terms with his parents' death and embrace the love from those around. Light-hearted and very 温馨, plus our ability to connect with him due to our similar age, it's almost 2 thumbs up! Of course insufficiency here and there is inevitable, but otherwise it's ichiban! =D
Looks like my $8 didn't come to waste, though the 1st story was really unsatisfactory, but the 2nd made up all disappointment. Hmmm...I'll consider White Fish Tank 2007...Give me more surprises baby!
